I must tell you this …
Would you please spare me a minute? That’s all it will take to tell you a very important message. This is the most important thing you will ever hear in your entire lifetime — one that will affect your existence on this planet.
The decision is entirely yours. You can choose to accept this message or reject it. But please make a decision only after you have read through these paragraphs. I promise you it will be worth your while. Let me dive straight into the subject and begin at the beginning.
How did we get here?
This world that we call ‘home’ was created by the Eternal True God. This God not only made the galaxies that are beyond our reach, but also the nature that surrounds us. And as the crown of creation, He made human beings. Man differed from every other creation because he was made in God’s image and likeness, to be a recipient of His love. Man’s uniqueness lay in the fact that he was blessed with an ability to think, reason, and make decisions.
Unfortunately, the very uniqueness that set man apart from the rest of creation became the cause for his downfall. Prompted by the devil who is the essence of all evil, human beings decided to doubt, disobey, and deny their creator. The first created humans, Adam and Eve, committed this act of defiance while they were still in Paradise. Thus, man destroyed the relationship that he had enjoyed with a Holy God. Man was no longer a part of Paradise and sin began to control his life. Human beings began to make their journey towards hell, the abode of the devil. And we now realize that man’s wickedness is increasing day by day.
Where are we going?
Undoubtedly, man has chosen to journey on the path of sin. Where does this road end? The Bible answers this question in Romans 3:23 which says, “The wages of sin is death …”This means that the path of a sinner finally ends up in a place called hell, where he is eternally separated from God. Hell is a place of eternal suffering and bondage and was designed for the devil and his evil demons.
Though man chose the path of sin and was thus destined to spend eternity in hell, God does not desire to send the crown of His creation to a place of suffering. However, man in his sinful condition can never be eligible to enter Paradise, or the holy presence of God. Moreover, God’s justice demands that the sinner be punished for his sins.
It is a fact that from time immemorial, man has been trying to return to the original Paradise from where he was ousted. Some of his techniques have been through penance, pilgrimages, and philanthropy. But none of these efforts have managed to bridge the gap between a Holy God and sinful man.
What should we do now?
Man’s efforts to reach God have failed consistently. The only way to bridge the gap between God and man was for God to reach out to His creation. And this is exactly what He did more than two thousand years ago on a cross, atop a hill called Golgotha in Jerusalem. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, took the sin of mankind upon himself and was crucified as a sacrificial animal. After he was buried, he rose again on the third day, defeating Satan, sin, and death.
The birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ is unparalleled. The way of salvation that Jesus Christ has created is also unique. Never before in the history of the world has such a gift of salvation been offered for the redemption of mankind. Thus God, in His time, created a provision whereby mankind can once again enjoy the relationship with a loving God. This offer is for all mankind, irrespective of race, religion, or riches.
What is my role?
Now comes man’s responsibility. Each of us has to receive the salvation that Jesus Christ offers to us. With a sincere heart, accept that you are a sinner and repent of your sins. Then believe that Christ died for your sins and took your punishment upon the cross. Then invite the Son of God into your life as your Lord and Saviour. You can make this decision wherever you are through a simple prayer. This action might appear very simple but let me assure you that this simple step of faith has eternal consequences.
Dear friend, if you wish to establish a relationship with God, become an heir to heaven, obtain eternal life, and enjoy the grace of God, it is essential that you first accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. This is the only way that God has prepared for man to reach his Creator. Moreover, it is detrimental to rebel against the plan of God and reject the salvation that He has freely given to you. We are on this earth only for a few years and none of us know when our life here will be over. In the light of such uncertainty, we need to consider the facts and ensure that after we finish our time here, we will spend eternity with God and not in separation from Him. You might be plagued with questions or problems. Hand over your life to Jesus Christ and He will make you a new creation.
We might never meet again. But I’m glad that I could share with you the greatest discovery of my life. Thank you for reading. And I hope that you will make a decision. Remember that your choice will not only impact your life here but also your life after death. May I remind you once again that God loves you. Please do not Turn your back on His love.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 3:16.
